Working alongside the Finance Manager Retail, the role is responsible for forecasting and reporting of all Retail shop costs (cĀ£140m), ensuring that retail operates within budgets set whilst seeking to identify and drive any opportunities for cost efficiencies. You will partner the Retail Property team in key decision making regarding the shop estate, supporting the production of business cases and management of the Capital expenditure budget and also provide detailed analysis of the estate profitability down to shop level.

About The Job
- Responsibility for Retail cost base to include but not limited to Budgets/ Forecasts/ Month End and Cashflow.
- Business case preparation for new stores and relocations, challenging the property team on the inputs being given.
- Manage the retail capex spend, keeping the Head of Property updated with spend v budget, ensuring all costs are captured and any risks or opportunities identified in a timely manner.
- Responsibility for the production and review of the retail shop P&Ls on a monthly basis. Pulling together Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) to evaluate investments and detailed review of store performance on a quarterly basis.
- Business Partner the retail property team to include monthly review meetings on Capex and P&L ā review the expenditure and challenging variances where required.
- Responsible for pulling together the annual impairment review for the retail shops ā ensuring all revenues and costs are captured and then results summarised to present to Head of Finance Sales and Marketing
- Management and development of the apprentice within the team.
- Support the TGBS accounting team in ensuring all balance sheets are robust, fully backed up and justified. All risks and Ops identified in a timely manner.
About You
- This role would suit a finalist accountant with previous experience in a Finance or Accounting role
- Strong Commercial awareness
- Capable of building relationships with non-finance stakeholders
- Strong communication skills with ability to translate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Ability to work with complexity and ambiguity
- Ability to work under pressure and independently meet tight deadlines
- Excellent analytical, and numerical reasoning skills with good attention to detail
- Strong proficiency with Excel, including advanced functions.
- Strong systems and process skills with strong problem-solving skills
- Proactive attitude and approach
- People management skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and develop a one or two direct reports
